Caroline Latta

Caroline is a passionate advocate of the strategic value involvement and communications brings to organisations, and particularly for boards and senior teams faced with having to make big changes to public services.

She’s a strategic communications, engagement and marketing professional with over 25 years’ experience leading and delivering public engagement and consultation, communications and marketing programmes across private, public and healthcare sectors.

Caroline’s strong track record includes strategic communications, public consultation for several challenging NHS change programmes, most recent of which successfully defended a judicial review on the consultation process, contributing to common law.

Caroline has worked for a range of NHS and other clients nationally and internationally and she is an expert in healthcare policy in relation to significant service change, communications, public engagement and public health behaviour change, service design and campaigns.

Paul Parsons

Paul has 20 years’ experience of involving people in policy and service change by creating relationships and supporting dialogue between underrepresented people and the people who make decisions that affect them.

He has supported dozens of organisations through high-profile, public service change projects, with a special interest in health and social care service transformation. He specialises in identifying, planning for and managing the risks of conducting public consultations on contentious proposals.

A history of working with people who live with disabilities, people who have English as a second language, and people who are deaf, blind, or deaf and blind have given him a broad perspective on the benefits of engaging people and communities who some services described as ‘hard to reach’.

Paul is a strong advocate of a more inclusive society and an active supporter of social justice and equality issues. He is a keen volunteer and when he’s not reading, writing, Paul spends several hours every week out and about on his pushbike.

Gail Cobb



Gail is an accomplished communications professional with experience in the public and private sectors. She has exceptional digital and social media planning and delivery skills, working to help organisations create clear, engaging content.  She has a strong understanding of the health and care sector and extensive NHS experience gained working on numerous health projects and campaigns. Gail is highly organised and extremely personable, traits that allow her to easily develop relationships that clients can build on for their transformation programme.

Rebecca Swales
Rebecca Swales



Rebecca has over 15 years of marketing and research experience and holds a Masters Degree in Research. She is a member of the Market Research Society (MRS) and has provided professional research, marketing and analysis services to several public bodies. This includes scoping the research requirements, ensuring the best techniques and providing reporting. Rebecca also runs women’s business networks and has a strong understanding of the wider business community. She is our expert in stakeholder management systems as well as providing marketing ability to the Stand team.

Sian Elmslie



Sian is highly organised and has a strong background in engagement and communications. She has worked in user-focussed roles for over 25 years, specialising in service user experience and leading large-scale user experience improvement programmes, including several large-scale public sector service reconfiguration programmes. Sian makes it easy for clients to report back to their own organisations on progress and planning, showing the value Stand and the client’s in-house team brings in successfully delivering their transformation programme.

Michelle Bainbridge

Business support associate

Michelle is passionate and enthusiastic with excellent organisational skills and real determination to deliver high standards. A diverse background in a career spanning 23 years has allowed her to develop expertise in marketing and social media campaigns, brand management, event organisation, office management, working with people with a sensory loss, and providing proofreading and editing services. Michelle’s friendly and professional approach allows her to build great working relationships with clients and suppliers. She keeps us on track and is a great asset to the Stand team.

Callum Currie

Communications and engagement intern

Callum is a recent graduate of Northumbria University, where as part of his degree in International Relations and Politics, he was selected to serve on his University’s delegation to the Model European Union meeting at the State University of New York. In addition to his studies, he was a member of the Debate and Model UN society, the latter of which he was the treasurer for. He is looking forward to developing himself professionally in his new role as the communications and engagement intern here at Stand.

Pippa Sargent



Pippa has over 20 years’ experience of working in and with the NHS, local government and the third sector on large-scale public engagement programmes, research and analysis, multi-agency partnerships, collaborative social marketing and behaviour change campaigns, and public affairs work. Her strong background and Masters Degree in Public Health and her love of all things creative, mean Pippa understands how to balance the evidence-base with innovative approaches in a strategic environment.  Pippa teaches health communications and social marketing at three Universities, and coaches teams in transformative practice.

Alison Thompson



Alison is an experienced, committed and motivated communication and engagement professional, driven by making a positive contribution through effective communication and successful relationships. With a successful track record and over 15 years’ NHS experience in communication and involvement roles, Alison has a comprehensive understanding of the sector as well as extensive experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders, communities and individuals. Passionate about patient and user involvement to drive service change, Alison has significant experience in developing and delivering successful programmes and campaigns and has worked on major service change programmes across the North East.
